Every neighborhood in Virginia has a state senator and state house delegate. Senator Ralph Northam represents the Senate 6th District. Delegate Paula Miller represents the House 87th District. Delegate Lynwood Lewis represents the House 100th District. None of these individuals represent the Colonial Place/Riverview neighborhood for our “Town Hall” Meeting.
Delegate Kenny Alexander is our house representative from the 89th District. He not only represents us but often attends our monthly civic league meetings. He is a remarkably dedicated public servant who listens and acts.
Our state senator is Yvonne B. Miller who has served our district for the last eighteen (18) years. To my knowledge, she has never attended a Colonial Place/Riverview civic league meeting. I can’t help but wonder why she will not be at “our” town meeting. I can’t help but wonder why she has rarely found time to communicate with her constituents in Colonial Place/Riverview. Perhaps she does and I am unaware of it. Most of all, I wonder if anybody in the neighborhood gives this a thought.
Thanks for the great and concise information. I have wondered the same about Yvonne Miller but have found her unable to return phone calls or letters.
